Veterans who live in the Eastern region have been invited to work with the Department for Learning at Duxford. The aim is to bring a new, personal perspective to our visitors on what the war meant to people who lived through it. Veterans will be on site on selected days throughout the year to chat to school parties and to families during school holidays. They will have photographs and artefacts with them to show to people who want to stop and chat, and they will try to answer any questions visitors may have.
This important initiative for the Department for Learning that has grown out of the 'Their Past Your Future' programme, which aims to foster intergenerational learning between veterans and young people.
