To ensure that all our visitors enjoy their day, we have created the essential guide to attending an air show at Duxford. All timings and detailed information will be available in due course. Air Show dates In 2010 Duxford will host four air shows.
Opening times
The flying display usually starts between 1.30pm and 2.00pm, leaving plenty of time in the morning to explore the whole Museum and take part in activities for all. Stroll along the flight line, soak up the atmosphere provided by specialist traders, experience a flight simulator and much more. Transport information We recommend that visitors travelling by car south on the M11 take the alternative route, signposted from Junction 11 of the M11, along the A10 to Royston and then east to the Museum along the A505. A proactive traffic management system will be operating on the M11, A505 and at Junction 10 of the M11. A free courtesy bus will run at regular intervals from Cambridge Railway Station, Cambridge city centre (Drummer Street; dedicated bus bay) and from Trumpington Park&Ride at Junction 11 of the M11. Parking at the Museum is free. Access information The majority of Duxford's buildings have level entry or ramped access for wheelchair users, and on air show days disabled parking is located next to the Visitor Centre entrance. Wheelchair users can make use of the dedicated viewing enclosure opposite the Flying Aircraft exhibition. Accessible facilities, including toilets are available. Dogs are not allowed, except assistance dogs. Eating and drinking The Museum has one restaurant and two cafes, all self-service. See more details on restaurant and cafes. Food and drink is also available from food stalls located around the site. Alternatively, you might like to take advantage of Duxford’s large open spaces and plentiful picnic tables and bring your own food. Shopping Located in the Visitor Centre and the American Air Museum, the Museum Shops offer a fantastic range of books, DVDs, models and much more. Up to 90 trade stands also attend the Air Shows, where you can purchase aviation-related items such as prints, books, paintings or models. Finally, visitors can support and buy souvenirs from the many charities that join us on Air Show days.
