A Camouflage Wall – Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October

The ‘Big Draw’ is an annual, nationally recognised campaign that tries to encourage drawing through family–friendly activities throughout the month of October.  The campaign aims to create opportunities for people of ALL ages to discover that drawing can make us ‘see, think, invent and act’

So, whatever your age, come and make a contribution to the Duxford Camouflage Wall. Create a camouflage animal, insect, person, mechanical object or building and see if you can hide it in our desert or jungle scene.

Cost - this drop-in workshop is Free for all the family.
Location – Hangar 4
Time – 12.00pm – 3.00pm

In the American Air Museum:

Those activities in the American Air Museum will take place on the airfield side of the B-29 Bomber.  During the School holidays a Paint and Planes Trail will be available every day.

Cody Kite building – Monday 23 October

You can build you very own flying scale model of the famous World War I man-lifting kite, originally designed by Samuel Franklin Cody in 1901. All material provided. This is a free drop-in workshop between 12.00 – 3.00.

Bomber Crew Experience – Tuesday 24 October

Why not come and try on our original Second World War bomber crew uniforms. You can try to imagine what it would have been like to fly in a  B-17 Flying Fortress during the war.

There are two sessions between 12.00 – 1.00 and 2.00 – 3.00.

Junior Spies – Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October

Your chance to be ‘007’. Receive your secret orders, decode them and then carry out your mission in the American Air Museum.  On successful completion of your mission you will then send your coded reply to HQ. Good luck!  This is a free drop-in activity between 12.00 – 3.00.
