Your children arrive at the Museum in role as evacuees, with gas marks boxes and a wartime lunch (information will be provided). They are told that they are waiting to be billeted to new aunties in the neighbouring village and in the meantime have a lesson with the local schoolmaster. The children will participate in a gas mask and stirrup pump drill, discuss rationing, make exercise books and toilet paper (to take to their billets) and draft a letter to their mother/father into their exercise books.
Cost:
£2.00 per child for this event, payable on the day at the Admissions Desk, by cheque (payee ‘Imperial War Museum’), cash or VISA.
Teachers are FREE at a ratio of 1:6, and additional adults will be charged the appropriate adult rate.
