The de Havilland Sea Venom, the naval version of the RAF's Venom fighter-bomber was in action during Suez in 1956.

The Sea Venom succeeded the Sea Hornet as the FAA's standard carrier-borne fighter, was in service from 1954 to 1960 and was the Navy's first all-weather jet fighter.
