The de Havilland Comet 4 was the most successful version of the world's first jet airliner.

In October 1958 Duxford's Comet 4 made history when it became the first jet aircraft to cross the Atlantic with fare paying passengers on board. The historic aircraft was withdrawn from service in 1973 and flew into Duxford in February 1974.

The military reconnaissance development of the Comet is the Nimrod which is still in RAF service today.
